15 Months

Bode grows up way too fast. It blows my mind every time I think about it. I took him in for his checkup today and he was not a happy camper. He wouldn’t nap all day and his appointment was at 4:20. He was grumpy. They made us wait. Forever. He got shots. He melted down. Other than that, every thing is going great. He’s growing, he’s talking a lot, his stomach issues seem to be gone, he’s always happy (besides today ugh), life is great! We just love our buster. (Clint’s nickname for Bode.) Clint mentioned the other day how it would be fun to have a little Bustette. I died laughing.

Gunner got jealous and jumped into the shower with Bode and Clint. Gunner HATES getting a bath/shower. I don’t know what got into him.

Clint was hitting Bode on the head with his tball stand. Bode laughed so hard.1 314 copy
Those red spots on Bode’s cheek are what we call Daddy Loves. Basically, Bode’s skin is really sensitive and Clint’s whiskers always leave a mark.

I have to let Gunner out during the day and Bode gets so mad when I won’t let him out too. He couldn’t resist eating the snow.

He loves climbing on all the furniture, taking off the pillows in the Ikea chairs, jumping up and down on the Ikea chairs, and changing the channel.

Slides

Today we went into American Fork to do some shopping. After our shopping trip, we took Bode to the park right by our house. It was sooooo cold and we only stayed for a few minutes. Bode loves slides. This is Bode when we put him on the slide. He got so excited!

He was pretty nervous and wanted Clint to hold onto him.

This is funny because when he got to the bottom he let out this sigh of relief! 1 150 copy
Now it’s his turn to go by himself.

He’s getting pretty excited as he grabs onto the edge and gets ready to go.1 154 copy

Sleepy Afternoon

Bode is STILL transitioning from two naps to one. He takes two naps a day probably twice a week still and the other 5 days only takes one. The problem is he is ready for a nap by 9am! He will go down around 9ish and stay asleep for 2 or 3 hours and be awake until bedtime. 12pm to 7pm is a bit much for this little guy to handle. I try and try to hold him off until noon for his nap. Noon to 2 or 3 is perfect then he is happy as can be until bedtime. Today I held him off until about 11:30. He was playing, getting tired, playing some more, really getting tired.. I have no pictures but then he melted down. I put him down because I don’t deal with melt downs. He slept for about 2 1/2 hours and went to bed at 6pm. 6!! I feel like that’s crazy early. The boy gets tired and I don’t argue. He’s hasn’t woken up in the night since he was like 8 or 9 months old, so I guess it could be a lot worse. 7pm to 7:30 or 8am is really nice. He will probably wake up tomorrow around 7:30. Maybe we can do something fun with Clint and try to hold him off until 12. He is fine if I go run errands. Maybe he just gets bored and tired with me at home. Oh we got rid of bottles and it’s been a breeze. He was still getting one before bed and some naps, but he doesn’t miss it. They grow up too fast. I feel like now I am just rambling on. What is your babies nap/bedtime schedule?

Cousins

My sister Kelli was in Texas for almost a month during the holidays!! Even worse, she stays SOOOOOO busy while there she barely even has time to text me. We normally text all day long until midnight most nights. I was needing a Kelli, Kayan, Kenna fix so we headed on over to Midway for the afternoon. The kids are so much fun! Kenna is growing so fast and is getting super chunky. I just love chunky babies. Bode and Kaylan had fun playing with all the toys, and they were really cute with each other.  When we got there she says, “Oh hi Bode! Hi Wori!!” She cracks me up. I’m really worried I won’t get a little girl for some reason. Guess it’s out of my hands and I should stop wasting time thinking about it, but I want at least one girl so bad!!!! Maybe one day I’ll have a girl to doll up. If not I feel sorry for Bode. Just kidding. Clint wouldn’t let that fly.

Ok- Bode cracks me up. I must have a hundred pictures of him with this same look on his face. While we were in Idaho for New Years, he cut his first molar. Now we have 2 more lovelies making their way out.
Kaylan and Bode were being so cute playing. It will be fun to show them these pictures when they grow up.

Ok miss Kaylan would not crack a smile!! I have a series of 10 of these pictures. I tried everything to get her to smile. 1 040 copy
I threatened to tickle her and that did the trick. I just love her blue eyes! Both of Kelli’s girls have the most amazing blue eyes!

Here is baby Kenna. See what I mean about the eyes? It’s crazy.

Oh that chubby face and sly little grin just make me want to have another baby. Then I snap back into reality.

Bode

I couldn’t get on the computer for almost a week and I felt so out of touch! I was texting my sister yesterday about a few things Bode has learned and it made me think I better document it somewhere so I will always remember! All the pictures are from a few weeks ago, but I figured what’s a blog without a ton of pictures..
Things Bode can say:
tan tu (thank you)
yite (light)
ba (ball)
puppy (his favorite word! Clint taught it to him when we were in Idaho because they had a little dog, and now he follows gunner around all day long and says puppy! puppy!)
nana (banana)
hot (he blows if it’s food that’s hot)
bye bye daddy
hi daddy
baaaa (sheep)
moooo (cow)
book
sock
soo (shoe)
banky (blanket)
sit (when he says this to Gunner it sounds like s*it)
Clint taught him to yell MOOOOOOOOOOOOM if he wants me. Lovely.
Things he understands but can’t say:
clap
stick out your tongue
kiss
where his nose, ears, & belly button are
drink
hair
throw your diaper away (into the diaper genie)
