I find myself taking pictures with my cell phone more and more. It’s so convenient! They aren’t the best, but still preserve the memory. I am starting to love them.

Thanksgiving

Consider yourself warned… Long post with tons of pictures!

We went down to Clint’s dad’s house for Thanksgiving. It’s beautiful in St. George this time of year! I loved it. Clint’s brother Andy was also there with his cute family and the kids had a blast. Everyone was out and about one evening and I was at home with Owen. Owen was sleeping, so I snapped a few pictures in the back yard. They have the prettiest stuff back there.

Web21

Jodi and I went on a few walks while there. Now she is wonder woman when it comes to making sure to work out on vacation. Me? Not so much. I was happy for the 2 walks I got! And don’t think normal strolls in the park. Jodi had me walking fast and up major hills.  We stopped by the park for the kiddos. Darci and Bode had fun. :)

Web22

Baby Owen was full of smiles for Grandpa Ron and cousin Drew. Let me just say that Owen was a DREAM the entire trip. Best baby ever. He even woke me up to eat one night long enough to score a Black Friday Wii bundle. Woo hoo!

Web23

Darci and Bode playing outside. I miss the nice weather already.

Web24

Talk about a Thanksgiving feast… Bonnie did an AMAZING job. She cooked all day and it was so yummy. I thought for sure this would blow my diet-but-eat-enough-calories-to-nurse-still diet. Thank heavens I managed to still lose a bit of weight and not gain more this trip. I want the old me back!

Web25

The hot tub. Bode didn’t want to get in. He didn’t even want to pack his swim suit. Somehow we talked him into getting in and he did have fun.

Web26

Darci loved the water. Andy even tricked her into jumping into the frigid pool. Bode would have cried. Heck, I would have cried. Darci? No. She just started shaking and making funny faces. She is one tough girl.

Web27

We all headed into St. George to this lovely carousel. Bode loved it. He didn’t want me riding with him, or even standing next to him. He told me to get on a horse. The kids had a good time. Thanks Grandpa Ron.

Web28

Splash pads are always a good time. Bode did get a bit wet and wanted new pants asap. The poor kid had to wait until we got home.

Web29

We took a tour of the old Tabernacle. I guess someone we’re related to the guy who made the chandelier.. or fought to keep the spiral staircase? I’m not really sure. I couldn’t listen to the tour because Bode was all over the place. A little bit more than half way through I bailed out the back. Clint and Andy didn’t even last though the second room before they headed outside, so I did make it a little longer than them! Bode is so naughty at things like this. He wanted to run around and be loud and distracting. It is a really pretty building though.

Web30

I wanted one family picture to prove we were all on the trip. I handed Andy my camera and told him to take some. He took pictures of me running to get Bode, some of us, then he had a photo shoot with Clint and baby Owen. I have no idea what Clint was doing with that poor baby… or what Andy was doing with the weird angle and all. The funniest thing is Darci snooping through my purse! I didn’t even notice that at the time.

IMG_3991 copy

Web31

Darci decided after the tour was a good time to take her shirt off. That girl cracks me up! And Drew was so excited about the little pictures he scored inside the museum. Bode wanted to play by the water again.. and this is actually when he got his crotch and bum all wet.

Web32

Ron was nice and took us all to the Dinosaur museum. I thought it would have actual dinosaurs.. but it more more just to show the dinosaur tracks that were preserved and found in the area. Bode wasn’t interested at all. He couldn’t touch anything and so the whole time we were getting on him to stop touching! Clint was busy checking out something and I watched Bode try to sneak under the rope. It was pretty funny and he was successful. Baby Owen fell right asleep in the baby Bjorn. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of his smooshed cheeks.

Web33

Bode was over the moon about the gift shop. The entire shop was all about dinosaurs.  As if he needed anymore dinosaurs. We did let him get some cheap glow in the dark kit thing.

Web34

And just a few more random pictures..  I just love baby Owen. He was looking so cute in his little grandpa sweater and loafers one day. Sunday morning we were trying to get packed up and ready to leave and he wanted to take a little snoozer on the bed. The other is him in just a diaper because he had TWO major blow outs during the trip. The others are the kid table at Thanksgiving, and the kiddos eating breakfast one morning.Web37

Thanks to Ron and Bonnie for letting us stay at your place! We had a great time and were glad to have Andy, Jodi and the kids to hang out with.

I have so much to be thankful for!!!!

Smile and Frown

Owen is so smiley these days and I love it. Bode and I love talking baby talk to him and getting big smiles. He’s especially full of smiles in the morning after he wakes up. It’s so fun!

IMG_3206

I was trying to get him to smile and playing peek a boo with him. He got scared and made the saddest face ever! I felt really bad.

IMG_3212

Don’t his chubby cheeks just make you want to give him a big ole’ kiss? I kiss them all day long. :)

Tummy Time

Owen has a pretty strong little neck. He’s been bobbling it around for a while now and he can have it up for a long time! I think he is just so cute.

IMG_3278copy

And look at those killer blue eyes! AHH! Clint and I both have green (ish) eyes and both our boys have pretty blue ones. I wonder if they will change because mine were blue when I was little too.

IMG_3269-copy-2

I’m also loving his chubby cheeks. He is such a sweet little thing.

Bode has croup and we just got him better from all the nasty infections last week. He loves his little brother so much and it’s nearly impossible to keep him from touching him! Just this morning I caught him sneaking a kiss on Owen’s cheek.  I said, “Bode! Do not kiss your brother! Do you remember you are sick? We don’t want to get Owen sick too, ok Hun?” This is what he said.. with his head down, “I’m so sorry Hun. I just love him too much. I won’t do it again.” It breaks my heart. :( We need him better so he can give all the kisses he wants.

(And yes Bode calls me Hun. Or babe. He also calls his friend’s mom Hun. And Clint, too.)

Mail

I hate checking it. I hardly ever do. I’m talking maybe once every 2 weeks. I ‘m not sure what it is about the mail that drives me nuts. Maybe that I know there are going to be tons of medical bills, and other bills.. or maybe because I know it will make a mess on my kitchen table for a few days before I make time to sort through it all. Not sure. All I Know is I hate it. Most of my bills deduct automatically, or I pay them online. I figure the mail sitting out in the box is fine to chill in there a while.

Clint is no help because he never checks it either. Unless he knows he’s expecting a delivery.

The mail lady rang the bell today. When I answered she told me that I had better take my mail out of the mailbox if I want her to keep delivering it. It was full. Oops.

Baby Toys

Owen just started reaching out for toys and I can’t believe it. They start out these cute, cuddly blobs that really don’t know what’s going on. Then they start to smile and interact and track your voice. Then they start to reach out and grab stuff! I know it’s kind of stupid to be so excited about something like this, but I totally am. :) My baby is growing up too fast.

Pink Eye, Double Ear Infections and a Cold

Last week was not fun. The first night the pink eye arrived Clint was off to a soccer game. The game was in Kaysville (an hour away) and didn’t start until midnight. He helped me get the boys in bed and took off so he’d be there early. Around 10:30 Bode woke up crying that his eyes hurt really bad. Owen was awake to eat, but couldn’t finish because I had to leave him to check on big brother. Bode’s eyes were all gross and all he wanted was for me to rock him. I rocked him and sang him songs and tried to comfort him and put him back in bed. I changed my shirt that Bode had snotted all on and rubbed his eyes on while I was holding him and sanitized myself then went back to try and nurse Owen back to sleep. Poor Owen was so upset that I had left him and the normal eat and drift right back off to sleepy land routine was out the window and he was wide awake. Thirty minutes later and Bode is up again. Bode is the kid who can throw up and roll over and go back to bed in the night. He usually never bugs us even when he’s sick. So I knew he was feeling pretty awful. :( I finally got Bode back in bed and laid with him for a while. It was nice not to have to worry about Owen this time..I was so glad to get him back asleep.  A little while later and both boys are awake ….. again!  I had to change my shirt and wipe down each time I went back and forth because I was so worried to spread germs to Owen. What a night!

By the time Clint got home at 2:15am Owen was sound asleep and I was laying by Bode just holding him. Bode was FINALLY asleep and Clint walked into the room, turned on the light and was going to put the over the counter eye drops that he picked up in Bode’s eyes. (I had texted him earlier what an awful night we were having and told him that my sister Kelli said they had over the counter meds that he should get… along with some Lysol disinfectant.)  So I whisper yelled to him, “Turn off the light!” I did not want to wake up Bode. Clint was telling me we needed to get the drops in and I was saying he had NO idea what went down all night and to let him sleep and worry about drops when he woke up again. Bode heard us and  woke up. He was actually pretty happy though! I was shocked. I swear I’m always stuck with the whiny crying miserable kids and the second Clint strolls in they are magically happy! I was like ok… I promise it WAS as bad as I said it was. AHH! Bode was talking a mile a minute and filling in Clint on everything that happened while he was gone. I had Clint put some visine eye drops in my eyes so Bode could see what we needed to do and that it was no big deal.. and we got the drops into his eyes. It seemed to help and we got Bode back in bed. He didn’t wake up again until about 7:30am.

Needless to say all of us were exhausted the next day!

This was Bode the next morning. He was quite the trooper! We had no idea until we were at the Dr. Office that he also had the ear infections. I think the worst part of the whole ordeal is the eye drops! That first time the night before wasn’t so bad because he didn’t know what to expect I suppose. The Dr. prescribed us more and and at times I seriously wondered if any meds got into his eyes through the tears. :( He’s almost done with the antibiotic and he does really well with the drops now.

IMG_3138

He’s doing much better now! I hope this was our first and last experience with pink eye. One can hope, right? I hate to see my baby in so much pain.

Owen’s Blessing

Last Sunday we blessed baby Owen. I wanted to get some pictures before church, because I knew it’d be kind of crazy after. I’m so glad I did because Owen blew out all over the back of this little outfit at church!! It’s the same outfit Clint was blessed in and Cozette said that Clint did the same exact thing!

I can’t pick faves so here are a gazillion photos.

IMG_2965IMG_2969

Owen is so cute and so chubby!!! I love him so much.

My handsome boys. :)

IMG_3071

The blessing was so good. Clint did a really nice job! Owen was an angel during the entire thing. Clint and I had been joking around about getting up to bear our testimonies in front of everyone. I felt like I just had to go up and say how thankful I was, even though I HATE getting up in front of the entire church. Clint just said, “Yeah right! Do you even have to ask?” I never thought Clint would go up, but he did. He said the sweetest things about me and the boys I will never forget. I was bawling. I could barely compose myself to get up after that.. but somehow I managed. Tears and all.

All of our family came over after church for a luncheon. My sis Erica helped me make chili the night before and I made cornbread. Sunday morning I put the chili into the crockpots and we were good to go.  Everyone else brought a bunch of stuff! Owen has 2 sets of great grandparents from my family and they were both there. We also had my parents, Clint’s parents, my siblings plus Erica’s fam (except for the Thurgood's, boo!) and Clint’s brother Andy and his family came too. Oh and my Aunt Karen. It was fun to try and squeeze everyone into our small place!

Ron and Owen in his blessing outfit #2. Bode accidentally ate my hair and Owen was a mess.

I actually bought this blessing outfit above before Cozette found Clint’s old one. Owen hated it and was sweating to death in the little suit. It was so sad. I wanted one picture before we took it off and that was all we got! haha. Poor baby. It was so hard to peal off his sweaty body and he was bawling. Clint said, “Go get the scissors! Cut it off of him.” AHH. I managed to get it off and he was much happier after that.

IMG_3121

IMG_3127

He was so tired by the end of afternoon. Poor thing. I was sick and had a splitting headache so I was tired too! Owen and I napped after everyone left. So did Clint and Bode. :)

Thanks to all for a great day!
