After Clint came home from work we celebrated with more cupcakes. You can never have too many of those! Owen got a strider bike for his present and he fell in love immediately. So did Bode. He rode that thing around and around the neighborhood. He even shared with Bode, who wants his own now. I just love Owen! I can’t believe my baby is 2. He is the cutest, funniest, most loving kid around. He just melts me. And those curls are to die for. Everyone is always stopping us in public to gush over cute Owen. I’m so glad that little pill is in our family.

owen’s birthday | part 2
My boys beg to throw rocks in water, or fish. It’s a problem really. I took them to Utah Lake after we did the cupcakes. Owen had the time of his life getting all smelly with gross mud, and Bode whined the whole time. He was begging for me to go back home, grab his fishing pole, then go back. We did not have time for all of that. It was torture for him to even be around water and not fishing. Sounds like his dad…
We spent the car ride home going over what we should be thankful for, focusing on what we do get to do and not what we don’t get to do. blah blah. I’m pretty sure no one was listening.

Owen turns 2 part 1
We started out the morning with me making them pose for a few pictures. I don’t know why I even bother. They were so excited to get cupcakes they could barely stand it! We drove to Sandy so we could hit up the Sweet Tooth Fairy. We got there to see that it didn’t open for another 45 minutes. Lame.
Next door was this paint pottery place. I figured what the heck. It would kill some time, right? They loved it and picked out the same sharks to paint. Owen was a bit too young for this activity, and lost interest fairly fast. Not to mention, he was a complete paint mess. Bode didn’t understand why we had to leave the sharks there, and I have yet to run down there to pick them up. It’s only been a month…
We finished up with painting around the same time the bakery opened, so they ran inside and couldn’t wait to tell me what they wanted. We all love cupcakes a little too much..
Birthday Party
There are a bunch of August birthdays on the Romney side. We had been so busy with photo shoots, visiting Idaho, etc. that we didn’t even have anything planned for Owen’s second birthday. (When I say we, I mean me.) When Ali told us about the party they were having at their house, I thought great! I didn’t feel sooo guilty about Owen. Clint was fishing this weekend, so I wrangled the kids and we headed to the party. Owen was sleepy and grumpy, but he managed a few fun moments. Bode is in heaven any time he gets to play with cousins. He just loved it! They rented these water bouncy houses and filled them up with bubbles. Owen was not a fan. He was pretty cute all mad in bubbles though.
Thanks for the pizza, cake and fun party Ali and Grant!
