Easter Eggs

I guess I don’t know how to boil eggs. Clint came home with two and a half dozen eggs in this big flat. When it came time to boil them, I just boiled them all. I don’t know why?! I guess that is a ton to boil. I just figured he bought that many, I should boil them all? I had him google how to do it and even after he told me, I did it wrong. My pot was too full of water and medium heat was not coming to a boil. We needed to go to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt and so I left with the boys. Clint volunteered to figure out the egg situation.. because at this point after 20 minutes we had eggs that still weren’t finished. Coincidentally there was a hockey game on TV. Pretty convenient for Clint, I think. The boys had so much fun at the hunt and loved seeing all their friends.

After the hunt and the eggs were finally done, we painted them. With the help of friends, of course! loriromneyphotography_2274loriromneyphotography_2275loriromneyphotography_2276loriromneyphotography_2273loriromneyphotography_2277loriromneyphotography_2278loriromneyphotography_2279loriromneyphotography_2280loriromneyphotography_2281loriromneyphotography_2272DSC_8570

I loved how bright and vibrant they turned out. Sunday the boys were looking SO cute, so I made them pose for me to get a picture. After church we ate and then Clint hid the eggs all around the backyard. They had fun finding them. I made some deviled eggs and they were delish, too! I am lame and didn’t get a ham or anything traditional. We had chili and cornbread. With a side of deviled eggs.. HA! This is what the Easter bunny brought the boys. They are SPOILED. loriromneyphotography_2298Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetloriromneyphotography_2288loriromneyphotography_2289loriromneyphotography_2290loriromneyphotography_2291loriromneyphotography_2292loriromneyphotography_2293loriromneyphotography_2294loriromneyphotography_2295loriromneyphotography_2296loriromneyphotography_2282loriromneyphotography_2283loriromneyphotography_2284loriromneyphotography_2285loriromneyphotography_2286loriromneyphotography_2287

I’ve been thinking a lot about the Savior and all he has done for us. I am feeling extremely grateful that He lives. And that because of Him, we have been blessed with so much. Happy Easter!

Summer

We got some raspberries this year and Owen and Bode loved to pick them. We got maybe a handful per day, but they were yummy. I also got Owen a basketball hoop because he was obsessed with everyone else’s. He loooooves it. The first day we had it out, it was especially a big hit. Owen played and played until he wore himself right out.

Fourth of July

For all you regular readers (all 3 of you…) I’ve been trying to catch up on all things dealing with cancer and trips to Washington. BUT – I am going to go out of order to blog about the 4th of July!

We had such a fun time this year! We started the morning by trying to see the movie Despicable Me 2. I guess so did the rest of Utah, so it was sold out. Like all day. Bummer! We took the kids to Chik-Fil-A instead and then headed to buy fireworks.

When we told Bode we were going to get fireworks, he asked us if he could have a backpack again. Last year we bought him a small backpack full of fireworks and he remembered! We had to get it for him again. The fireworks in it were all dinky and small, so we did those in the middle of the afternoon.

A nap was in order for these boys who were going to be up super late! Lucky for us, they obliged. Later we had a little BBQ for ourselves and Owen loved the corn on the cob. So much so, that he started eating it before it was cooked.

Up next was the firework show at Thanksgiving Point. We got there about 7:30 and the boys played and played until the show started. We went with our friends, the Farmers, and it was a great time! We did sparklers, watched people light off fireworks, Played catch, Clint and Colin took the kids on a little train ride, and Owen ran around and stole everyone’s balls. He’s so darn cute that everyone was like, “Oh hi there! He can play with that! It’s ok!” What a little thief. He ran around SO fast. His curly head and red cheeks were hard to spot in a crowd. Once it started getting dark I was feeling major anxiety over Owen and making sure I knew where he was all the time. Even once the fireworks started, he made a run for it a few times.

We are so blessed to live in a land where we are free! I’m so thankful for the men and women who have made that possible. Happy fourth!!
