Splash Park

This little place is a 2 minute stroll from our house. We went more often at the start of summer, but the boys get tired of it. The water is freezing, and when it’s windy.. its really cold. My friend texted me that she was headed there with her daughter, and asked if we wanted to meet them there. I asked the boys who said no. I had to talk them into it. Owen didn’t even want to put on his swim suit! He ended up getting soaked in his clothes, and then he ran around in his diaper. Classy, right? The thing that bugs me about going to the splash park is that the boys play on the field, near the fences, everywhere but the actual splash park. Oh well. My sis Kelli actually called me and I blabbed to her forever while Owen ran all over the field. 2013-08-27_00622013-08-27_00642013-08-27_00652013-08-27_00632013-08-27_00662013-08-27_00672013-08-27_00612013-08-27_0060

Splash Park

Clint’s mom, Grandma Cozzy, came to our house last week with our niece Nikki. We thought it would be fun to walk over to the splash park! I had already been with Bode earlier that day and he loved it. It’s so darn cute watching him ride his bike places. He still gets a little nervous about riding over the part where it transitions to the road, but he is doing lots better! He’s also doing better at the splash park. He will actually get wet! Owen.. well, he had his first time in the actual water part this day and he LOVED every second of it. He is not afraid to get all wet and play in the water. He was crawling all around just having a blast. Everyone was having a great time and then Bode had to go to the bathroom. Clint took him and while he was in there he cut his toe on the door. Pretty bad! It was so sad. He was so upset holy cow. We tried to clean it off as best as we could and wrapped it up in a diaper wipe and headed home. Trying to clean it more at home proved very difficult. Bode was freaking out. He tried to be brave and we tried to walk him through it, and eventually we were able to run it under water and take a good look. It was pretty deep so Clint put some of Owen’s teething numbing stuff on it and that helped out a ton. After that kicked in Bode was awesome at letting Clint really get in there and clean it and bandage it all up. Poor guy! He limped around for at least 3 days after that.

Splash Park

We have this splash park super close to our house. Bode doesn’t usually like being splashed so it’s not a huge hit around here. He does like to go with his friends though. One time we went the city fire trucks were there. It was so cool because they started spraying their hoses and all the kids were running around in the water. Bode thought it was pretty cool! Here is with his friends Cooper and Gabe.

Splash Park

It’s been pretty nice to have the splash park open up in the neighborhood. Bode likes it way more this year than he did last year. He still doesn’t like to get splashed, but he will walk on it at least! He was wanting his bucket to get filled up with water so he would run up and place it under some water, stand back, and run back in to pick it up after it was full. So funny! We went with Bode’s friend Cooper and they had a blast. Owen loved it too. :)

No matter what they did the boys could NOT get warmed up afterwards. They were being so cute!
