Girl’s Night Out

First off let me start by saying Clint is the best husband EVER. I am leaving for a Girl’s cruise to the Bahamas tomorrow morning, and he let me go on girl’s night last night. He is out fishing today so I guess we work well being together and still letting each other do what we want. I have the best neighbor’s and so we hang out a lot. We go for walks, hang out with the kids outside, work out together, go to yoga together, play dates.. you get the picture. We decided to throw together a last minute dinner and movie date, but only me and 2 others ended up being able to do it. We had a blast!! I love my friends. It makes all the difference to get along so great with the people you live by. We’re all picture crazy with nice cameras.. so you get us together and it’s a little trouble and a lot of pictures. Thanks Sarah and Janae for a fun night! I’m exhausted from getting home after 2am, but I *think* it was worth it. J/k. I love you girls!

2 blog posts in one day! WOO HOO! I’ve got to catch up so when I get back next week I can get right to the gazillion pictures I take in the Bahamas! :)

Utah State Fair

We ended up spending a ton of money for basically nothing. It was hot, dirty, in a scary part of town.. but Bode did have fun. He was super tired and wouldn’t eat anything so most of the rides he was kind of out of it! He didn’t really smile and laugh like he normally does. Maybe because it was nearly 2 by the time we were done and he usually naps at 12. He didn’t complain or fuss at all though! Clint and I looked at the photography exhibit for a long time and he was such a good little boy just riding in the stroller minding his own business.. well, until the very end. I don’t think we will go next year, but it’s fun spending time together no matter what you do, right?! :)

I volunteered to go on this kiddy ride with Bode and I thought it would be a leisurely little car ride and it wasn’t! That thing whipped us so hard around every corner. I had to brace my neck and I couldn’t believe how rough it was! Bode didn’t act like he cared at all. He just sat there, unamused, while I was freaking out.

Gas Station Popsicles

Bode is the sweetest boy ever. He loves his mama so much and he is always saying, “You ok mama?” “Coming mama?” If I trip or he steps on me, “Oh sorry mama.” When I put something on for the day he says, “Sooo cute mama.” When I grab him rocks before we enter the grocery store (or any place) he says, “Oh mama!!! Thank-oo so much!” Everyday he will shut a door in my face and say, “Bye mom. Wuv-oo too.” The list of new things seems never ending. Oh I just want to squeeze and kiss his cheeks all the time! I felt like I needed to reward him for being the best kid ever one day. I couldn’t think of anywhere to go, I’d spent any money I didn’t have already shopping.. we live in the middle of nowhere so it’s a good 20-40 min to anywhere cool… so the best thing I could come up with is a treat at the gas station. Pathetic, I know. The kid is easily pleased, what can I say? I got him a popsicle, you know, the big sticks. He went to town on that thing. It was long gone before we could walk back home. Bode can’t eat anything without making a huge mess. I mean ANYTHING! Bank suckers are the worst. Did I mention I don’t keep candy in the house? He once stained a shirt with a fruit roll up. (Totally not your fault Abbey, he’s got problems.) So - I had to stop every couple steps to wipe him off, the stroller, my own hands and arms, everything he touched basically. I was regretting it almost instantly, although I feel like it’s a right of passage or something. It’s actually the first treat he’s ever gotten from the gas station, besides a sucker my neighbor grabbed for him one day on a walk. (Thanks Naenae.)

He was soo dirty I had to clean him off before we went back in the house. I figured the hose would be a good way to do it. He was hose crazy for a few minutes and I was soaked, everything around him was soaked and the giggling made it hard to get mad at him. He was one happy kid, until he accidentally turned it around and sprayed his own face.  Web21

Not to worry though, he got right back up without skipping a beat, and started spraying everything again.

Fun times Bode. I love you little punk!

Hogle Zoo

Last week my cousin Sara and I took the kids to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and not crowded! Bode and Brayden had a lot of fun riding the train, going on the carousel, and checking everything out. Bode is really scared of the animals on the carousel so him and I sat on a peacock bench instead. A big chunk of the zoo is under construction so that was a bummer deal, but we had a great time anyway. Cute little Olivia chilled in the stroller and barely made a peep the whole time. Thanks Sara for going to the Zoo with us!

Our Trip Wrap Up

On our way up to McCall we stopped by the river and let the kids play for a bit. It was so pretty!!

We saw the biggest beetle I have ever seen in my life just outside our room. It was really gross. Ron was holding it and Clint was taking pictures. Web10

This cute little Christmas store and candy store in one. I bought a McCall, ID ornament! I’ve never collected ornaments but Abbey does so I thought hey why not start now! We go a bunch of cool places so I can imagine my tree in 20 years with ornaments that remind us of all the fun times.

McCall Part 3

One afternoon the kids were going crazy from being in the hotel all day. Abbey and I decided it would be fun to let them play in the rain. I didn’t bring Bode’s rain boots with me, but Griffin would not wear his. So Bode wore Griffin’s, and Griffin wore his new shoes. When the kids were done jumping in the mud puddles, we couldn’t decide if it was all worth it.

McCall Part 2

So the scenery in McCall is just gorgeous!! It was cold and cloudy most of the days, but it was still so pretty. Of course I went overboard taking pictures and I can’t ever pick favorites.

McCall, Idaho Part 1

We just got back from our fishing trip this year and we had so much fun!! The boys fished every day and Abbey and I tried to entertain the kids doing things around the city. It was a bummer because the weather was cold and rainy! We still took the kids to the beach at the lake and a fun park a few times. We also swam with them in the pool, and let them jump in mud puddles. The suites at the resort were awesome! Even though we ended up spending quite a bit of time in them, it was fine! The kids had tons of room to play. It’s going to be really sad the next time we go somewhere and get a plain old hotel room now! It was really great seeing each other and getting the kids together. Clint, Ron, Bonnie and his step brother Bryan have been going fishing somewhere every year for 6 or 7 years now. It’s pretty cool how they included Abbey and I back when we dated and were engaged, and now we get to bring the kids. I filled up an 8gig memory card and I don’t even have the energy to dump them onto my computer and sort them out right now! All these ones are from Clint’s camera. I feel like they are pretty self explanatory.. cold, foggy, wet and beautiful. Well, the dead mouse that was a red tailed hawk’s lunch isn’t but you get the idea.
