Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! I have so much to be thankful for. We are all happy, healthy, safe, provided for, and loved. Clint had the entire week off and decided to start his vacation with a fishing trip up to the Provo River on Monday. Tuesday morning we packed up the car and headed to Star Valley, Wyoming. Bode was great the whole way (although he decided he wouldn't take a nap the entire day. What kid doesn't nap in cars? I mean really!) We stayed in the cutest cabin ever. Me, Clint, Bode and Gunner all piled in this one room cabin. I was stressing out about it (hello, that's what I do) but we had so much fun! We all loved it! Here is our little cabin, with the amazing view early morning. Bode was so much fun the entire trip. He ate his first snow, jumped on the bed, giggled in the car, and even shut himself in Gunner's cage. My sister Erica and her little family were also in Star Valley over Thanksgiving. Bode and cousin Logan had fun hanging out at Grandma Suzanne's. It's really Logan's grandma, but who needs to get technical. Erica and I also had a lot of fun during the days while the boys headed out fly fishing. Suzanne had all her Christmas stuff out and it was fun to see! Even more fun trying to keep Bode away from it all. :)
Suzanne cooked up a feast and it was so yummy! My favorite part would have to be the yams, although it was all delicious. We are so happy she let us crash her family Thanksgiving! They were so nice, and we had a really great time. I hope everyone else had a great day!!!

What to do..

Bode has a mullet and it's getting pretty bad. I really want to cut it, but Clint doesn't want me to. I get that it's curly and cute and blah blah. The hairdresser in me just wants to fix it though! I have been thinking about just cutting it one day while Clint is at work. I would feel bad that Clint would miss his first haircut, but that might be the only way I can do it! What should I do?(Yes that is a necklace he is wearing.)

Update: Clint thinks I picked the worst possible pictures and that normally it lays down. I guess it's true.

Poor Thing

The other night Bode was walking around having a grand old time before bedtime. He loves soft things, and while he was checking out the closet, he found this old scarf. I crocheted this scarf while working at my first salon in Cherry Creek, CO. I love this scarf. So does Bode. It's soft and he wraps it over his head. I thought it was too cute, so I had to snap a picture (or 100.) Right at that moment Bode went over to Clint and gave his Daddy a big old hug. Precious, I know. Right after that Bode went on his merry little way and Clint and I were talking about the settings on the camera. I was changing them to see if I could get any good pictures without the flash on. Clint is taking pictures to see if it's working and Bode started screaming. It wasn't until after the ordeal I knew Clint actually got a picture of it. Bode was jumping (a favorite past time of his) and must have tripped on something or the jumping got out of hand or whatever, but he ended up hitting his jaw on the coffee table. This is him right after it happened. After every accident comes the inspection. I thought he bit straight through his tongue because I saw blood on both sides. Clint was telling me to calm down, he did not bite through his tongue. After a closer look, we found out that he bit the bottom of his tongue with his bottom teeth, and the top of it with his top teeth. Nothing went through. He was fine. He did not like us checking his mouth. Kinda like he hates when we brush his teeth. Go figure.

Post Number 200!

Friday night I had a Girls Night planned with some of my neighbors. Clint found out that he had to take the scouts to a BYU basketball game and could not get out of it. I called every babysitter over the age of 12 in the ward and everyone was busy. Friday afternoon I was telling my Grandma B, cousin Sara, and sister Kelli my dilemma. They suggested Clint just take Bode to the game. The thought of it stressed me out, but sounded better than me staying home! Bode only had one nap from being at my Grandma's that day (he normally takes 2) & the boy zonks right out between 7 and 7:30 every night! Clint wasn't going to get home until 10:30 or 11:00, but he said he wouldn't mind taking Bode. Turns out I had a great time with my girls, and Bode had a great time with his daddy. Clint said he was great, never cried or got fussy, and eventually fell asleep right in his arms, which he never does. Clint must have mentioned how much fun he had with Bode last night like 10 times today. Yay for Bode's first Guys night out!
I was texting Clint asking him how Bode was doing and although he said he wanted to tell me horrible, he just sent me this lovely cell phone picture instead.

Gunner & Bode

Bode was napping the other day and I wanted to take some pictures. Gunner is my second choice.

Oh look who woke up. He finally gave me a smile for the camera! It's been a while.

Life.

Bode wasn't feeling well for about a week or so. He was fussy, emotional (breaking down over nothing) and attached to my leg. I thought he was just teething and prayed for those suckers to break the skin so I could have my baby back. (His molars have been swollen.) My sister Erica came up from Cedar and we all hung out at my other sister Kelli's house. Poor little guy was not himself! It stresses me out like no other to have a crying, screaming, unhappy baby. I don't know what to do and I hate it. Being a mom is hard! I worry my future kids might be fussy or colicky and I will go into a deep dark depression. I don't deal with fussy babies very well. He broke out in a rash all over his back, stomach, neck, and head. He had a low grade fever. Kelli searched the internet and thought it was a reaction from shots maybe? Or from teething? I hate never knowing. We couldn't even enjoy feeding the ducks or playing at the park. Bode had enough. I had enough. I had to leave for home.
The next day the rash was gone, the fever was gone, and Bode was back!! It took a few days before he was fully himself again. I missed my happy bundle of personality. I still don't know what in the world it was. He still doesn't have more teeth.
Bode and I have been having a blast all week. He cracks me up.
He still won't smile for me when I take his picture. At least I have his pretty baby blues in this one. (Can anyone tell what he's doing?? The boy loves rocks.)

Jordan River Pkwy

Today Bode and I went to the Jordan River Parkway. I was testing out my new 70-300mm lens and Bode was eating rocks. We both had a good time.

A St. George Halloween

Friday night we dropped Gunner off at my parent's house (THANKS MOM AND DAD!) and headed down to visit Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Ron for the weekend. It was so much fun, and we are so sad to be back home. Bode had a blast and was cracking us all up the entire time.
We arrived at 11:30pm on Friday night and Bode slept the whole drive, but was wide awake as soon as we got there. He was showing us his dance moves and loved running around their house. I was laughing so hard because although he has been "dancing" for a while, he was really busting a move at midnight! I was worried he would never go to sleep.
Grandma Bonnie found this adorable pirate shirt for Bode. I love it! He sure looks cute in it. I was trying to get him to arggggh like a pirate, and it was pretty funny. Ron took us on a nice walk Saturday afternoon and it was so hot. It felt like a hot summer day, which was really nice. We let Bode get out of the stroller to walk around and so I could take some pictures. He basically wanted to eat all the rocks, and that's it.
I couldn't get him to look at me, surprise surprise. Below is Bode's first water fountain drink! I am stupid I know. Grandpa Ron and the chunky monkey! We went to their church for a yummy dinner and trunk or treat. Bonnie made enough Chili to feed the entire stake, and we all enjoyed eating it with some yummy cornbread and root beer. Yummm. Bode couldn't be bothered to stop playing and eat, so he grabbed a roll on the go. Bode and Mommy. I love my monkey. He didn't quite know what was going on for the trunk or treat so I gave him a sucker (with the wrapper on) to entertain him. He had that wrapper off in no time and enjoyed his very first sucker. He was smearing it all over himself, me, his costume.. Yeah. Sucker = one sticky mess. Halfway through the trunk or treat, he realized what was going on! we would get him close to the candy and he would try to grab it all. The orange wrappers of the reese's really caught his eye, and he must have grabbed 5 of those. My favorite treat, thanks Bode. Grandpa Ron was trying to get Bode to wear his hat. This was after trunk or treat and we were trick or treating at the Beehive Home where Ron and Bonnie help on Sundays. Bode didn't like this hat one bit! Once he knew he didn't have to wear that hat, he was all smiles while Grandpa was tickling him. Once we got him home and fed he was sooo happy and so much fun. Ron was playing hide and go seek with Bode and I wish I had a video camera to catch it all. Bode was laughing so hard and every time Ron would come around the corner Bode would jump. It was so funny, we were all laughing so hard. Thanks For such a great weekend! We had so much fun and it makes us all want to visit St. George way more often. Our first go at trick or treating was a huge hit! We hope everyone had a great Halloween, because we sure did!

(Thanks for a yummy dinner on our way back home Mom and Dad!)
