We had two days at the parks and it was a blast! I didn’t really know what to expect, but everyone says it’s the best place on Earth. Well, I am not so sure. Of course it’s fun, but it was hot and involved lots of waiting around and grumpy kids. Clint was fried from our beach adventure the day before, and a haphazard sunscreen application on Bode’s back (by me) left him with a burn as well. I felt so bad, but they were miserable. Bode said multiple times he was bored, and Owen sulked and whined a lot. When we were riding rides the boys loved it.
I think my favorite ride from the first day was the Cars ride at California Adventure. It was so much fun. Bode loved that one as well! Bode is a dare devil like me and loved just about all the rides. Clint got sick and a headache from the very first roller coaster we rode on and was content to hang out with Owen pretty much the rest of the day. Owen got a little nervous and was too short for anything exciting anyway. He did enjoy the bumper cars, but that first day we didn’t do much for him. I felt super bad, but the group we were in didn’t have any little kids who were too short for stuff, so nothing we did was catered for Owen. We made sure to do more fun things with him that second day, but his first day involved lots of waiting around in the stroller with some unlucky family member missing out on rides (mostly Clint and Grandpa Ron and Grandma Bonnie.) I wish he was taller!!! Poor kid is so short, we were all joking around that we need to come back for his 18th birthday when he will finally be the recommended height limit!
