Our Weekend

Bode and I hung out my family and Clint went fly fishing. Clint left at 4:30am and didn’t get home until midnight, so Bode and I had the whole day to play. We went over to my parent’s house where Bret, Erica, Andy, Logan and my parents were. It was so much fun hanging out! I didn’t get any pictures of Logan and Bode together for some reason.

I cut Erica’s hair and so I figured might as well cut Bode’s too! Clint was NOT happy and went on and on about how I broke a promise I wouldn’t cut it again for a very long time. I tried to explain to him that when I promised that I was figuring it would grow evenly, which it didn’t! I love it though. He is so cute. 1 313 copy

Bode just loves my mom and dad. It was fun seeing them play together. Below is me, my sister, and my mom. This was right before we left the babies with the boys and headed out for some shopping.

Clint had so much fun fishing with his friends and keeps talking about how he needs to get out and do it more. HELLO he goes a lot already but whatever, I guess not enough according to him. He caught the biggest brown of his life and had a great time. I keep asking him if it’s bigger than the cutthroat I caught in Yellowstone and he doesn’t know. It’s nice to know I’m still up there with the hubs when it comes to fish size. OH I never blogged about it but last weekend I went to a fly fishing film festival with Clint! It was so much fun. It’s really funny to be a part of a bunch of guys freaking out over a fish coming out of the water to eat a fly.

Poor Bode is getting 5 teeth right now and so all day yesterday and today he’s had a runny nose, cough from all the snot, and a fever. Around 12:30 am this morning Bode let out the saddest little whimper. Normally he sleeps straight through being sick with no problems, but when Clint heard him he really wanted to see him. He hadn’t seen him all day long so I couldn’t argue. About 20 minutes later I peaked into the room to see this. Both my boys sound asleep, cuddling. The room was pitch black and all I had was a tiny hall way light to take this picture. I knew a flash would wake them up so I hiked up my ISO and so that’s why it’s so noisy. It’s so cute though.

Cute Things

Whenever I ask him to do something and he does it, he will call himself a “bood bo.” (Good boy)
He loves to play ring around a rosie, but he stopped falling down for some reason. It used to be his favorite part and he would always do an extra spin before falling. I miss that!
He says “no” all the time. Bode, do you want another bite? “No.” Bode it’s time to brush your teeth. “No.” you get the idea..  He says it so cute though.
Clint came home from work the other night and Bode looked at him walk in the door and said, “Hi Dad.” Then he kept on sweeping, which is what he was doing.  Usually it’s a huge ordeal and he gets so excited he starts kicking his feet really high and runs towards him.
He tries to put his socks and shoes on by himself.
He just started undressing himself.
He poops a lot. I think more than the average kid. Whenever he’s got a dirty diaper I say, “Bode! Did you poop your pants?” He says, “Uh huh” and starts walking upstairs which is where I always change him.
As long as we sing him songs he lets us brush his teeth really well. It used to be a nightmare.
Whenever he breaks something (for example my GLASSES) or drops something he says “oh oh!” (uh oh.)
He loves to grab the phone, put it up to his ear and say “hi dad!” or start blabbering jibberish but the second I get someone on the line he refuses to listen or talk. He pushes it away and tells me no.
We’re officially over the transition from two naps to one. Most days he goes down at 12 and sleeps for 3 hours. I hope this lasts forever. Ha. Yeah right.

I can’t think of anything else but we are so lucky to have Bode! We talk every night in our bed about how he’s so funny, happy, cute, perfect, nice, smart… the list goes on. We are truly blessed with him.

(He has a mouthful of fruit snacks, that's why he looks like a chipmunk.)

Valentines Day

Clint got me some beautiful flowers for Valentines day which was a huge surprise! I figured since he got me roses for my birthday, I’d be set for a while. We went out to eat with Bode and it was a lot of fun. :) Thanks love.
I was trying to get pictures of the flowers when Bode escaped. I had the back door open for the light and before I knew it he was down the steps, and running as fast as he could. We have been sick so I’m sure being outside in the freezing cold is great for a cold, not to mention he had no shoes and no sweater.

I got a few pictures before I ran outside, in my socks too, and grabbed Bode. He was pretty upset. Cabin fever anyone?

Dinosaur Museum

My neighbor invited us to go to the museum at Thanksgiving point. It was so much fun! Bode had so much fun playing around and looking at everything. He kept running over to the smaller dinos saying, “puppy! puppy!” It was pretty cute. The highlight for him was at the very end playing in the sand pit trying to uncover fossils with his little brush. Gabe and Bode got along great! They were sharing goldfish and everything. :)

Bode Happenings

Bode is the best most fun kid in the whole world. I’m allowed to say that because he’s mine! We are having SO much fun with him at this age. Everyday he does something that makes us both laugh to death. I am always taking little movies with my cell phone and sending them off to Clint at work.
The other morning I was so tired. I figured I would hang out with Bode in his bedroom so I didn’t have to pay a whole lot of attention to him. I shut the door and left Gunner out and made sure it was pretty kid proof. I found a few blankets and laid on the floor on my stomach. Bode was playing around and making animal sounds and having a grand old time. Every so often he would come and pinch me or play with my hair, but for the most part he left me alone. I guess I knocked out because about an hour later I woke up to my hands that had fallen asleep. I always sleep with my hands under me – so they fall asleep. Not the smartest thing, I know. I also felt a weird pressure on my legs. Bode had fallen asleep on top of me! Like I said, I was on my stomach with my legs close together and Bode was on his back laying on both of my legs with his hands sprawled out fast asleep. He never falls asleep in random places like some kids do, so I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe I had fallen asleep! Anyways – that’s my funny story.
What he’s been up to:
He loves to jump and dance on command.
Loves to sit on the bottom stair and tap his feet on the hardwood.
He loves to tell Gunner to “sit!” as he’s pointing.
Likes making all animal sounds all day long to himself.
Gives high fives, kisses, and rocks. (Ya know – that fist thing?)
He’s decided he doesn’t like milk anymore and guzzles water all day long.
Trying to mimic us in everything we do. (The other morning Clint was trying to give me a kiss goodbye for work and I turned my head so he could kiss my cheek. I had just woken up and thought a cheek kiss would be much better! Clint went to kiss Bode next and Bode turned his head! He tried a few times, but every time Bode would move away, just like I did.)
He learns new words everyday.
He loves to read books to himself.
LOVES playing Ring Around the Rosie. He always does an extra twist before the fall. :)
He pouts when he doesn’t get his way and just learned how to throw a mini tantrum. I nip that in the butt because it makes me go mad. I tell him to stop and he most often does, if not he’s in time out.

UMMM…
I feel like I’m scatter brained and can’t think of anything else to say even though I know there is much more I am forgetting! This will do for now. :)

My Birthday

On January 26th I turned 26. I kind of forgot to blog about it. I feel really old! I had a great Birthday. Clint spoiled me with new camera stuff and also a dozen roses. I felt really special! I got a girl in the ward to trade babysitting for a haircut, which worked out perfect. Clint and I went to dinner and to see Avatar at the Imax in Sandy. I enjoyed our date so much and I have decided we need to make a better effort to spend more time alone. I made myself a pound cake. I love baking and let’s be honest.. do I want to see what Clint would come up with?? Not really. It was really good and I felt really guilty eating it since the whole thing basically consisted of sugar and butter.

Below is a picture of me on my birthday so I figured I would post it.

The rest of this post has nothing to do with my Birthday, but I am too lazy to do 2 different posts. Bode climbed up onto our window area looking into the kitchen. He was not happy.

I knew he wasn’t going anywhere so I took a few pictures. Below is the bigger picture. He is such a punk.

Bode was crying, I was laughing and Gunner wasn’t impressed. He just sat back and watched, then started dozing off. Bode is still stuck up there right behind where I was when I took this picture of Gunner.
