We had the busiest weekend ever!!! Friday night we headed up the the Thurgood house in Midway. Kaylan, Kenna and Bode played and played. We chit chatted, ate pizza at the park with the kiddos, got ice cream, played games and had a blast!! Kaylan and Bode are so brave! They were jumping right off this high platform at the park.
Saturday morning we drove into Salt Lake to hang out at Grandma and Grandpa Ks. My Aunt and Uncle were in town with their family so we ALL went to lunch. My parents came up with Bret, Kelli and Aaron brought the girls, we had the Sondrups, My Aunt Karen and my grandma. It was so much fun hanging out with them!! My cousins Nick and Shannon are getting so old and it makes me feel ancient. We ate at chipotle and enjoyed each other’s company.
We went home after lunch to let Bode take a nap and that night I headed back into town to go shopping with my sister in law Abbey. Bryan and Abbey were in town from Boise and so after our shopping trip, we ate dinner and watched fireworks. We planned on going to the show at Thanksgiving Point, but while out shopping we found out there was a show in Sandy right in front of their hotel. It couldn’t have worked out any more perfect! We ended up sitting on the grass outside the hotel 15 minutes before the show started and being front row!! I think we got so lucky that night because Abbey and I wasted over an hours worth of shopping to fight the parade traffic. UGH. Poor Abbey had to walk like a mile to meet me because I could not get close to her hotel! All roads were blocked and each set of cops I passed by had different instructions how to get to her. Here are the best pictures I got from the fireworks. I had my tripod with me but didn’t have the head that connects it to my dang camera! I was bummed, but it ended up being ok. Most of them are out of focus because I’m not the best at manual focus.
Sunday afternoon we headed up Provo Canyon with Bryan, Abbey and their kids for some hot dogs and smores! My sister Kelli and her little family joined us. It ended up being a beautiful afternoon and the kids had so much fun, although they got so dirty - Especially Griffin and Bode…
After the lunch up the canyon we headed home to pack up our things, get Gunner and Willow (Abbey’s 3lb log haired Chihuahua we were babysitting) and drove back up to Miday for the night! Kelli and Aaron let us stay the night with them and we had fun just hanging out letting the kids roam around. We had crepes for dinner and Aaron’s world famous omelets for breakfast. (He is the one claiming them to be world famous although they’re actually really good!) After breakfast Monday morning we headed to Thanksgiving point to go to the Museum of Ancient Life with the Taylor Family. Clint dropped off Bode and I at the museum and had to run Gunner home. (Kelli and Aaron fell in love with little Willow and ended up keeping her! Abbey and Bryan were looking for a new home for her so it worked out perfect.) By the time Clint returned we were just about done with the museum so we got the kids some things from the gift shop and said our goodbyes.
(I chopped off Bode’s hair at some point this crazy weekend… Clint said I could and I think he looks so handsome!!!)
After the museum we came home and all took a long nap! We thought about going to the park around here for dinner but we were so worn out we really didn’t do much of anything after our naps. Oh that’s not true! Clint and I weeded and cut down the old tulips because our roses and lilies are about to bloom! Phew. Long weekend. :)
We ended up needing gas like 2 or 3 times over the course of this crazy weekend but it was so worth it. Thanks everyone for letting us share our Holiday with you!!
We are all so lucky to live in a Country where we can celebrate our freedom with the people we love. I love America and everyone fighting for the freedoms we enjoy!
