Silhouettes

So I have been thinking I want to redecorate my entire house. We bought this home nearly 6 years ago as a “starter” home. We had NO plans to stay here for more than 2 years. Clint’s commute is awful (2 hours a day.. some days more) and we hate being so far away from the area we actually like and Clint’s work. The houses were substantially cheaper in Eagle Mountain than Salt Lake, Sugar House, Sandy, Draper, heck even Bountiful.  We had great credit, thought we were getting a great deal, and were pretty proud to be young and able to buy our first home after renting for 2 years. By the end of 2 years we could sell this sucker and use the money for a bigger, better home.. all without having to pay capital gains… all before we had more kids than rooms. Good plan, right?? WRONG!

As everyone is aware the market took a turn for the worse. We are so stuck here. It’s not worth what we owe and like the rest of the world, our chances to sell right now are impossible. We can’t just eat the loss. I’m SO bitter about the whole ordeal because people look at us like Oh, poor folk over in the townhouses…. when we pay more than their mortgage for their huge house.

Anyways, my whole plan was to remodel and actually accumulate nice furniture and things when we got into our new house. We are going to try and rent this place out come Spring time, but I am so sick of waiting around! Who knows what will happen there, and I’m ready to redecorate NOW! SO I’ve made a plan to start slow. Incorporate more of my photography, and add little touches here and there that I actually like and are more my style. I know it will take a while before it’s even close to how I would want it. Our deco now is kind of like hmm.. that was cheap and I bought it and now it’s on my wall. I’m not in LOVE with anything really. Plus I got most of the stuff when we were first married and that was a long time ago! Things change, I’ve changed.. I’ve neglected my poor little home for too long.

So, first thing up were these adorable silhouettes. I have been wanting one of Bode forever and now that I have the two kiddos I thought It would be really cute to have both of theirs up on the wall somewhere. I plan on updating them yearly to see how much they grow. I’ve got cute, round 5x7 frames for these suckers I paid only dollars for at Hobby Lobby. I’m thinking they’ll look super cute mixed with other photos in a wall collage of sorts. I looked for tutorials on how to do this on pinterest and all the ones I found involved glue, or modge podge, or tracing ever so carefully and cutting out.. or construction paper, the list goes on. I don’t have time for that. I put my thinking cap on and the light bulb came on. I can do this in PHOTOSHOP! It seriously took me a few minutes and I am in love. I still need to get a photo of Owen because the one I took gave him no neck. I’ll have to have Clint hold him up with his arms down to get what I need. Anyway, here is the one of Bode. This story turned out way longer than I thought, but I am pretty good at rambling. I can type at super fast speeds (thanks to all those data entry jobs I had during/after high school.) That doesn’t help me any in the short post arena…

Oh and I love your ramblings... wish I was as motivated to get my blog going again. I would love to help you in the redecorating department while you are here... if that means we get some time to shop :)
