Owen loves to eat anything and everything. I have caught myself giving him cut up blueberries (small.. like 4 pieces out of one blueberry), graham cracker squares, rice… all of this stuff that I’m not even sure he should be eating at 7 months old! He gums it all like he’s chewing, except without teeth and swallows it fine. He’s never really choked on anything either. I do give him baby food a few times a day as well, but it’s easier to drop a few baby puffs on his tray and get other things done. In my guilty feelings that I shouldn’t be giving him all this food, I remembered that Bode LOVED this mess contraption. Sure enough Clint found it for me back in some cupboard and we washed it up and put some blueberries inside. He liked it ok, but didn’t love it like Bode.
He’s kind of been acting a little different the last few days, though. He’s had a fever, been super sleepy, and barely eating anything solid. I took him in to the Dr. and he has a throat virus! The Dr. said it was bright red and probably painful for him. Poor little thing. I feel so sad for him. He even lost weight. :( We’ve been giving him Tylenol for the pain and fever, but pretty much have to ride it out. He hasn’t been grumpy and mad, but more like sad and pouty. His lower lip will quiver and he’ll look up at me with those big baby blue eyes almost like he’s asking for me to do something. It breaks my heart!! I’m hoping once he’s all better that he’ll love food in the mesh thing.
