Bode doesn’t really like the leaves. He thinks they are scratchy and hurt him. My neighbors raked up a big pile and all the kids played and they threw them on Bode and he cried. Hard. He said the kids were being mean to him and throwing leaves in his face and down his shirt. Which they were doing. But the other kids were all just having fun. NOT him. Ugh.
I texted Clint asking him where our rake was (I’ve never raked leaves before…) and once he got back to me I raked up a bunch more. I made a big pile in our yard and my plan was to let Bode and Owen play in them. I didn’t want Bode throwing another fit. Well, it’s hard to exclude neighbor kids when they are all outside anyway – so we went for round two. Bode did have a lot more fun! He still didn’t like them touching his face, but he didn’t melt down.
Owen is so chill and goes with the flow. He love to explore and wander around playing with things he finds in the yard. This was Friday when Bode was out of school for fall break and it was such a beautiful day. The boys played and played until Bode could not handle anything anymore. I think he was tired and that was making him super grumpy and emotional. That is when we headed back inside! haha.
