On our way to Disneyland we decided to break up the trip with a night in Vegas. The boys do pretty good on road trips, but I am always a fan of less hours in one day than more. It was SO nice to get out of the car and do some exploring. Clint made our hotel arrangements and it wasn’t until right before we arrived that I realized it was weird he never asked my opinion for a place to stay. I was so busy packing and planning for our trip that I didn’t really even think about it. Well, he chose Circus Circus. It was cheap, so that is always good. Nothing wrong with it I guess…
Check-in was basically like waiting in line at the airport. Ridiculous! Oh the people watching that I did in that line… Parking was even worse than that. We had to haul our luggage alllll the way through the entire hotel and casino to get to our room, Bode kept staring at all the posters of half naked ladies, and we all smelled like chain smokers. It was an experience to say the least! After we got settled in the room we headed out again to meet Clint’s brother Reuben and his family. Our plans to caravan down didn’t really pan out because Owen had to stop to pee or poop like every hour (tmi?) We also got a later start than we thought because I always procrastinate packing until the last second, and I cleaned the whole house before we left. I love coming home to a clean house, what can I say?! Even though we didn’t meet up with them along the drive, they left us homemade jerky to pick up on the side of the road! They are awesome!!
After we finally met up with them to say hi, we took the boys to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. They are both obsessed with sharks! We knew we had to go. Bode basically ran through half the aquarium and only wanted to see sharks! Owen loved everything and wanted to take it all in. It was so cute.
Next up was an overpriced dinner and a tram ride. The boys thought that was pretty fun. Owen kept shaking his head back and forth and acting so crazy for the ride. It was so funny! I don’t know what got into him. Clint assured all the laughing patrons of the tram that we stopped him at three drinks. It was pretty funny! From there we kind of roamed around the strip. It was late and we had grumpy boys, so we didn’t do much else. The next morning we went to Reuben and Jessicca’s room (or should I say suite) and were very jealous of their accommodations! The girls shared their chocolate from the m&m store and Reuben played with the boys on the bed.
Clint wanted to meet up with an old friend from his mission to Guam and so that is what we did next. He was living in Vegas and not far from where we were. It was so fun hearing them talk about the mission and hearing how much Clint means to their family! I couldn’t believe the lasting impression he had on this man! I am glad we were able to take the time to stop. That was about all we had time for before heading to California. Up next… the beach!
Can you tell that I mixed a few cell phone pictures in the bunch?
