6 Months Old

I’m really sad that Owen is already six months. I’m also really happy. He’s so much fun! Bode, me, and Clint all love this little guy to pieces. A lot of stuff is the same as last month. He’s very easy going, always pleasant, independent, way chill, doesn’t like bottles or a binkie….

Some new things this month are that he sleeps WAY better at night. Some nights he goes down at 7, wakes up at midnight, and wakes up at 7:30am. Other nights he will wake up once at midnight and once again at 5 am. The every two hour schedule is a thing of the past and I’m not sad to see it go!!

He LOVES food. Have I mentioned that he loves food? I can’t get over how much he looooves food! His very first taste of any kind of food was before he was 4 months. Clint was eating a popsicle and Owen was staring him down hard core. Clint went to offer it to Owen and that baby flipped out! He started waiving his hands around and moving his whole body back and forth. He was practically beside himself excited. I’m pretty sure Bode didn’t have a taste of sugar until he was one, but I’m guessing second child syndrome is the case?? We’re definitely more laid back with Owen. I started him on rice cereal at 4 months old. It was the day before his 4 month check and then his Dr. told me to wait until 6 months to feed him. I didn’t ask any questions… but I got home and was like wait? Why 6 months? I started feeding Bode at 4. So I waited until about 5 months and at the time was struggling with night time sleeping. I felt like my only option was solid food. He didn’t really like cereals, but still ate them pretty good! Shortly after cereal.. I started introducing other baby foods. He’s tried just about all of them now. He loves bananas! He will eat anything that isn’t green. He can down an entire container of baby food twice a day. He also loves graham crackers, Nilla wafers, those baby puff things that melt in their mouth, any kind of cracker, bread, cheerios… I really struggle with knowing if I’m giving him too much too soon – but he handles it fine! He chews with his gums and gets everything good and soggy before swallowing. He’s never choked on anything and loves tasting everything. He loves taking baths and showers. That kid is allll over the shower floor and it’s hilarious! Bode loves taking baths with Owen. It’s so cute! He loves going places and misses his brother when Bode is gone to preschool or a play date or whatever. I can’t get enough of this baby. Seriously.

I made a little video. And yes. Now I’m feeling guilty that I don’t have a video for Bode. He is in it quite a bit though. Enjoy. :)
