A trip up to Farmington

We don’t get so see Clint’s brother Andy and his family as much as we’d like, so we invited ourselves over last Sunday! Bode was tired and pretty grumpy, but he did have a fun time. He loved riding around on their gator! At first he wouldn’t go near it, but eventually he ended up riding it and driving it.

Bode had a pretty fun time jumping on the trampoline. He even jumped right off it onto the grass one time. I was worried, but he was fine.

They have a little baby duck in their garage. Bode loved the duck! He was talking about it the whole way home. They offered for us to keep it, but I said no. We’ll have to go visit more often. :)

Pony Express Days Parade

This parade was part of the carnival festivities from last week. We opted out of it the last few years we have lived here, but this year I wanted to check it out. People staked out spots along the street the night before! We strolled out of our house right when it started and were able to get a spot on the grass right by our townhouse complex entrance. Bode thought it was pretty cool to watch the different people going by.

He must have gotten a bit tired because he said he wanted to sit down. Of course he said to Clint, “Sit down by me, dad!” He had to be just like Clint. I thought it was hilarious.

I took a picture of my huge bump through Clint’s glasses. I didn’t realize he was eating candy at the time so he looks kinda funny.

Bode loved it when people threw him candy. The kids in front of us got most of it, but what few pieces he did get went right into his pocket!

All the kids kept calling these loud noises fireworks. So of course Bode thought they really were fireworks. He was so scared! It was just a bunch of old men shooting off old fashioned canons and guns. They were actually shooting blanks at each other old war style. They even called out to kids in the crowd who should they shoot next, and then aimed right at the person and shot. Clint and I thought that was completely ridiculous to be teaching kids to aim a gun at someone and pull the trigger. Everyone seemed to be entertained and was clapping and stuff. It was so weird.

Ever since my bump got huge Bode always wants me to hold him or be sitting on it. It’s pretty uncomfortable!! He’s actually been really whiny lately. I think he can sense something is up. I miss my old easy going child. This whiny, grumpy, mean, non nap taking kid with an attitude is driving me nuts!

Good thing he’s still pretty cute. :) About half way through the parade, Bode said he wanted to go home. We were more than happy to walk the 1 minute back to our house! My brother in law Aaron was staying with us for the week so we enjoyed a nice little bbq for lunch. I just love summer!

Carnival

So this lovely carnival you see in the picture is literally 20 feet away from my house. It comes every year and makes things pretty crazy for a few days. Most of my neighbors all bought the 3 day passes for their kids, but we opted for a bunch of tickets for one day. Bode had a lot of fun and I’m glad we didn’t have to go 3 days in a row! One was plenty for me. :)

He got a balloon which he was super excited about! He loves balloons.

The slide was a huge hit.

He had to ride solo before we met up with his friends. Some he was ok with… Others he was pretty sad.

This kid above was all over Bode. He was just being friendly, but Bode was NOT in the mood. Stranger Danger, right?

He got over it and had a blast on this roller coaster.

He got a fish balloon and he was really happy about it until I said something to him. He scowled at me and was grumpy after that. Boo.

More roller coaster ride, but with his friends this time. I have no idea why he felt like he should stand up while on the roller coaster. One of the carnis got mad at Bode because they had to stop a ride to make him sit down.

What do you do after spending the afternoon at a carnival? Get ice cream of course. :)

Memorial Weekend

We usually go out of town for Memorial Day, but this year we stuck around. My sisters came into town and we really wanted to be here to hang out with them! The Thurgoods stayed with us for a few nights and the kids had so much fun. Bode has been asking about Kaylan and Kenna just about every day since they left. It’s so much fun to let them all play and we have really been missing them since they moved to Washington. Bode has also been talking about Wogan and Eba since the Aullmans left as well.  Every year my mom’s side of the family does a huge breakfast for everyone. Poor Bode was sick, but he tried to keep up with Kenna and Logan running around everywhere. The best he could do was make my dad carry him around so he could watch all the action. My parents asked me to bring my camera so we could get one picture of all the family after this breakfast. This was the best I could do!

After the breakfast we hung out with Clint’s mom, then had lunch with his dad, then met up at my Grandma B’s for dinner. It was a busy day! I didn’t take pictures of any of that stuff! Boo. As Clint would say, “This pregnancy is really taking it’s toll on you.” Haha. He’s always joking when he says that, but it’s true!

Water Balloons & Squirt Guns

Bode has been obsessed with water balloons these days. He always wants me to go outside and make him some more. He usually wants two right away that he sets aside and doesn’t pop. He throws all the ones after that no problem. When we are done he asks me if he can take the beloved two inside. I usually say yes and he carries them around forever. I’ve only had one pop in the house so far. I make sure to make them really small too. It’s funny because the small ones don’t pop very easily and then end up bouncing around everywhere.

Bode loves to spray me.. or anything really. The majority of the time my spray bottle in my hair bag is missing. He prefers the water bottle over his spray guns, but these will have to do!

Chasing after one that didn’t pop. He asked me if he could go into the road and I said, “Hurry!” He did his goofy little run all the way to the balloon and back.

And he got it to pop.

ps. I have total pregnancy brain and some of my sentences lately haven’t made much sense. I read through old posts and it’s like run on city! Forgive me. I’m constantly saying stuff to Clint and he’s like Huh??? He will repeat back to me what I said and I’m even surprised sometimes.
