Six Months Old

I can't believe my little baby isn't little anymore! Bode had his checkup on Monday and everything is looking great. He is in the 75th percentile on everything. His height is 27 inches, his weight is 18 lbs 6 oz, and his head circ is 45 (I'm guessing cm?) My Ped couldn't believe how well he is doing considering everything he went through. I can't either.
He decided a few weeks ago that formula doesn't appeal to him anymore. (I have smelled the soy and I can't say I blame him.) I am lucky to get him to drink 4 oz every 3-4 hours. He used to down 4 every 2 hours back when he was a few months old. If I don't sit there and wait the 20 minutes it takes for him to finish a bottle, he doesn't even care. Some days he only drinks 2 oz every 3 hours, and goes about rolling around everywhere and sucking on toys. I even switched to the largest size nipples for his bottles, but it didn't help. How is he so chubby??? Unfortunately with the drop in his formula intake, he started waking up once in the night. I miss him sleeping 10-12 hours straight! The pediatrician said since he doesn't get as much formula as he should during the day, to go ahead and feed him if he wakes up at night. {Not. Loving. That.} He drinks the bottle and goes back to bed, so it's not awful I suppose. I figured I better start feeding him more solids, and he loves baby food. The kid can down a 2 1/2 oz container in no time. His favorites are bananas, prunes, and sweet potatoes; although he will eat anything. He has finished off every container I have ever fed him.
Bode rolls around like a maniac. He can make his way across a room simply by rolling/turning over and over. He has rug burns all over his knees and arms from trying to crawl. He is not quite there yet, but getting closer all the time. He is really good at pulling the blanket closer to him in order to get a toy not near him, and he can also scoot himself by his arms to move closer to things. You can tell he wants to crawl so bad. I have seen him sleeping a bunch of times on his tummy with his bum in the air and his knees under him. Maybe he dreams about crawling? My sister is letting me borrow a jumper you set up in a doorway and Bode just loves it! It's hilarious watching him jump. He tries to jump when he's in his stand up toy that isn't meant for jumping and that's pretty funny. He can support himself sitting up pretty good now, until he realizes he would rather be on the floor and kind of falls/rolls over to his tummy. He has bonked his head many times, and I am sure many are to come. He's pretty tough and so far it hasn't phased him. He does cry sometimes when he gets himself wedged under the coffee table, living room chairs, or bed frame. I know, I'm not getting the mom of the year award anytime soon.
Bode smiles ALL of the time. I love having such a smiley baby. It makes me happy. I don't know what Clint and I did to deserve such an easy baby. He is so much fun to be around. I am grateful for a hard working husband who gives me the chance to be at home with Bode. Happy half a year baby Bode!

Ohmygosh Lori! He's getting so big! I can't believe he is doing so much now days! When did you start him on solids? My pedi told me to wait until she was about six months to start her, unless she isn't getting enough to eat with her formula. She has been fighting her bottle lately and it's worrying me. I can't believe she is almost five months already!

I love your pictures! Do you do anything to enhance his eyes, or does you camera just rock that much?

Lori, Bode is way to cute! I need Bode to come and teach Darci how to sit and crawl. We need to play again soon. Give Bode a hug and a kiss from me.
