6 Hours Later...

Bode throws up a lot. It happens every month and a half or two months, but it's brutal. It usually lasts 3 days and he can barely keep anything down until the 3rd morning. It's sad. It always makes me wonder what in the world is going on. It brings me back to his surgery and his little intestines every time. I took Bode to a new pediatrician because I wanted a second opinion and he suggested an upper GI with a small bowel through. This test is basically having him swallow barium (a berry flavored metal that shows up on xrays) and take a bunch of xrays. Poor Bode did great. There was a lot of tears and the whole ordeal was 6 long hours. Clint got off work and we stuck it out together. Clint said, "It's been so much fun to spend a Monday morning with my buster." Fun... maybe not. Worth it? YES! Wonder no more.. he is perfectly NORMAL. Now if we could just figure out why he throws up.
When two nurses weren't holding his arms and legs down while forcing barium down this throat and taking xrays he was quite pleasant! There was a lot of waiting since they had to watch the liquid go through his entire system, and he played and played. Even with no nap and no food he was happy as can be. The picture of him climbing the toy is hilarious. My camera was in the car but eventually he DID climb that thing and was standing on it.
