Jungle Gym

Saturday I had a photo shoot downtown Salt Lake. I had Clint meet up with me after I was done in hopes to see Santa at the mall.  Clint pulled up to the mall and called me to let me know there was NO way he was going inside. His sister Ali was having her grand opening of her new café, so we went there instead. It’s the cutest little sit down café attached to her already  successful flower shop and Rachel’s bakery! It’s really cute and Bode loved eating the cupcakes. We got some dinner and it was so early still I wanted to have fun in Salt Lake! It’s such a long drive from where we live (ok 30 min to an hour isn’t THAT bad but still…) so we decided to take Bode to a jungle gym. He was a blast!! We called grandma Cozette to see if she wanted to tag along and she brought Bode’s cousin Drextin with her. The boys were so funny to watch! Bode was going on some pretty crazy fast rides and I thought he’d be so scared. He was great and loved them.  He wanted to ride them with Drextin and not me. He did hold on for dear life, so I think he was more nervous than he led on.

One of the rides had the kids going super fast one direction and then it stopped for a minute and went backwards. Well, Bode decided between the two he was going to get up and out. We were on the opposite end of the ride yelling at Drextin to make Bode sit down! The nice operator helped him get out and he was done with that one.

I kept yelling at the boys to look at me and Drextin made sure Bode was looking. Haha.

Bode and I were on a spinning ride and Bode was totally expressionless.  He wasn’t excited, he didn’t act scared.. just nothing. So I look kind of stupid but I was giving Clint that look that says, “Umm not sure what’s going on here.” I really thought he was going to get sick and throw up. Clint HATES spinning rides so I figured maybe Bode took after him. He was fine though.

Funny story about the kid below with that balloon. Bode was iffy about this play place area. It was more for older kids and he didn’t want to climb up it himself. He normally loves these types of play places, like the ones at McDonalds, but he didn’t like this one. It was dirty, falling apart, and really creepy in there. He couldn’t get his balance but wanted to climb up to where the slide was. I hopped in there to help him out and right as I was trying to help him get through that yellow circle on the right of the picture that balloon kid came in front of me and started shoving Bode through it! Bode kept saying, “No hurt tummy! Noo! Move!” I butted my way behind Bode and told the kid to stop it and I would help him to get through. He was calling me stupid and ugly! I was wearing my shoes because I really didn’t want to take them off and the kid was telling me my boots were ugly. He even tried to shove Bode again half way up to the slide! I was losing patience and told him to go on ahead and that we were going to take a while. He wouldn’t go ahead but started hitting me with his balloon telling me to hurry. I told him to knock it off or I would pop his balloon. Well, he didn’t stop. So I popped it. Not my finest moment.

We had a great time for the most part! It’s so much fun seeing Bode play and acting so big. Thanks Grandma Cozzy and Drex for hanging out with us!!

That looks like a really fun place. You sure are great parents. Wish we lived closer since it sounds like Marhsall and Bode have similar habits! hahaha
