Alpine Splash Park

There is a new splash park in town! Ok, it’s not really in my town but we wanted to try it out anyway. My friend, Misty, invited us to ride with her and her little girl.

It took Bode a while to warm up, but eventually he got braver to try things. If he does get splashed he doesn’t melt down anymore, which is nice.

I’m afraid we had way more snack breaks than actually playing in the water.

This is Capri. She wasn’t really into the water either!

Funny story about this kid in the orange shorts. So Bode wanted a turn with the splasher thing above. He was patiently waiting and the kid was taking forever. He kept looking back at me with this look like, “Mom! Do something!” I kept telling him he needed to wait. The boy was finally done and Bode stepped up for his turn. The orange shorts kid immediately pushed him away and said, “No! My turn!!” Bode was just devastated. My motherly protective instincts kicked in and I went straight up to the kid. I politely told him to move and that it was Bode’s turn now. He thought he was in big trouble or something and ran to his mom, who was across the park sitting under a pavilion thing. I hate butting in, but some kids are just not nice and what else do ya do when the parents are no where in sight?

Bode’s swim suit came untied and he wouldn’t let me tie it. He kept saying, “I’m doin’ it mom!” He just twirled it around and around. Oh and notice the rocks everywhere?? Yeah that is my worst nightmare. Bode may have chucked a few into the splash park area. Thank heavens he didn’t hit anyone with them.

Although this park is better than the one they just built in my neighborhood, it’s still not as good as the Highland one. It was fun to hang out with my friend though. :)
