The Aquarium

Last Friday night we were headed to the Zoo. Clint got off work around 5 and I thought it would be the perfect time to go and check out the dinosaur exhibits that are around all summer. I’m not a fan of the heat in my large and in charge 35 week body, so I figured later would be better. Bode and I took a late nap, so I woke up in a panic to get everything ready to go. Bode ran out front because he saw his friends playing and so I kind of let him play for a minute while I loaded the truck up with the stroller, etc. My neighbor informed me that the zoo closes at 5!! I couldn’t believe it! Sure enough, I checked on my way into Salt Lake and the zoo gates close at 5:00. BUMMER! I’m glad my friend gave me a heads up before we drove all the way over there.

We were ready for something fun that night – so we went to the aquarium instead. Bode had a blast! Oh my – it was so funny just watching him run from one thing to the next. He is the funniest kid and we had such a fun night out with our little family. I can’t believe that sometime THIS month we will have 2 kids. It blows my mind.

Bode kept climbing this frog and jumping off of it.

The two fish on the left kept going into each other and kissing! Then they would back up, and go in again. They must have kissed 5 times. I couldn’t get a very good picture, but it was cool to watch.

This thing was kinda creepy. Bode liked it.

Bode stayed at this penguin tank for a long time! Lucky for us it wasn’t very busy and we had the place to ourselves for a while before a few families parked it right in front. Only one penguin was jumping in and out, the rest were chilling up at the top. This little guy was so cool. It’s amazing how it just jumped into the water and then hopped right back out. I was having some troubles getting any pictures in focus because it was so fast!

Bode was too short to reach in and touch the stingrays. He loved watching them swim around though.

I’m glad we finally got to visit the aquarium this summer. Hopefully we can make it over to the zoo in the next few weeks. :)
