The dreaded haircut.

Bode’s hair was getting out of control and I finally found the time to cut it. It’s something I had been putting off for weeks. He hates sitting there for a hair cut and complains the entire time. It took an hour just to gear him up for it and 30 min of that was him flat out refusing.

Not today, ok mom?

It’s fine, not too long mom.

No I’n just too tired.

Lets take a nap instead, ok?

After the small talk, it’s whining, full on crying, tantrum, time out, apologies, hugs, kisses, lub yous, then finally coming around to the idea of a cut.

 

Ok mom.. but be soft okkkkkkkk??

no twimmers though.. just scissors. Twimmers scare me, ok?

Oh, and I want to spway the water.

So we’re in the chair ready to go. He’s naked and spraying me with the water bottle until my face is soaking wet. He held pretty still and was actually pretty good. I did what he asked and didn’t use my trimmers. IF he holds still I can manage with scissors and a comb. I was almost done when the complaining started. He had hair all over himself, and it was in his mouth. He freaked out when a piece fell in his mouth and started crying and spitting and touching his mouth with his hands that had tons on them too, and eventually it’s in his eyes and all over his face and he’s DONE.  So we had to hurry up to the bath, clean him up and finish in there. It’s so exhausting to cut his dang hair!!!! You’d think we’d have a better system for it since I am cutting it at least every month or two.

He was the happiest, most well behaved kid after the cut. I praised the heck out of him and let him know how amazingly wonderful he was for being such a good boy and letting me cut his hair!!!!
