Everyone in the neighborhood was headed over to the elementary school’s carnival. I think I’m the only one without a kid who goes there, but it sounded fun. Clint wasn’t able to get home from work and meet us until 6:30, so I took the boys earlier and he met us there. Bode had a blast! He noticed some kids had balloons and he immediately wanted one. We walked around and around looking for the dang balloons! Once we finally found where it was, it was too late. They had already taken down the booth. Lucky for us, we were able to distract him with other things.
He fished in this little game, but he was not impressed. The girl in charge of the game just grabbed the end of the string and tossed it through the window. Bode was feeling gipped because he wanted to actually fly fish!
Sweet baby Owen was a champ the entire night. He was awake then asleep then awake.. just looking all around.
Bode loved the bouncy houses! I stayed in one place while he ran around between the 3 that were set up. At one point I got to talking to my friend and I looked up and couldn’t see Bode. I kind of scanned the area looking for him and found him not far away… on the ground crying. He was devastated whispering to himself, “I need my mommy. Where’s my mommy.. I can’t find my mommy.” It was so sad! I ran over to him and he said to me, “Mom!!!!! NO running away from me, OK?” I tried to explain to him that I was in the same spot the entire time, but he wasn’t buying it. This was all before Clint arrived and I was happy to have the second pair of eyes when we met up with him.
It ended up getting FREEZING cold by the end of the night and I didn’t bring jackets for any of us! Bode didn’t seem to mind and he had a really fun time.
Besides the cold gross hot dogs they served everyone, it was a pretty good time. :)
