Gardening

The five weeks we were in Washington, Bode went to preschool with Kenna. They got two cute plants to give to Kelli and I for Mother’s Day. Kelli was well into her 7 weeks of radiation at this point and starting to feel it more and more. One morning after we got home from the hospital she decided she wanted to plant the flowers and weed a bit. She was a happy little gardener just having a grand ole’ time. I couldn’t believe it! It seems silly, but in the moment I thought she may as well be super woman.

The kids loved it and were such great helpers. We thought it was the perfect spot for them and they looked great!

Are they still alive, Kelli?!

I love that you are recording all these memories for yourself, Kelli, and her girls to read someday. I am inspired by Kelli and her strength and I am so thankful that that you all have such a special bond and you were able to go be with her during this time.
