Point Defiance Zoo

While staying with my sister and her family, we went to the zoo. Kelli stayed home with baby Kacie and we met up with Clint’s friends Peter and Annie. It was such a beautiful day! It started out pretty chilly and I was regretting putting the kiddos in shorts, but it warmed right up. The kids had such a great time.

I think my favorite part by far was letting them feed the birds. They were all so excited when a bird would land on their little stick to eat the bird food. Another fave was watching the polar bears play fight. It seemed just like our old dog Gunner and Kelli’s dog, Battle, playing as pups.

The kids were awesome and Clint and Aaron goofed around and made us all laugh the entire time. They thought it was hilarious to say loudly that the animal we were looking at was in fact a totally different animal. Or we would leave a certain exhibit, for example the elephants, and they would say something like, “I wonder if we are ever going to find the elephants?!” I can’t even really describe what they were doing, but it was FUNNY. One thing after the next after the next. They went along with it the entire time we were there and we got so many people looking at us funny. I do remember that Kaylan asked for some cotton candy and Aaron told her after she was all done with her sandwich that Kelli packed for the kids, she could get some. She ate all her sandwich and asked for it. Aaron said, “Nope. Sorry.” The poor girl didn’t even get upset! She’s like, “Oh man.” Then he told her he was just kidding and she could get some. Those cute girls are just used to it! Another thing was there was a loud horn that would go off every so often. The first time it went off Aaron said, “Oh no. An animal died.” Then by the end of our trip the horn went off and all the kids said, “Oh not another animal!” It sounds terrible, but holy crap we were laughing so hard. NEVER a dull moment with Clint and Aaron around each other, that’s for sure. Bode ended up asking why animals died on the way home and I told him they were just kidding. He said, “Oh! Good one!” Our poor children…

We got home and cute Kelli was making us all my Grandma B’s potato salad! And it was delicious. She was almost done with her 7 weeks of radiation at this point and doing so well. She’s incredible! She has seriously been a miracle. Attitude is everything and she has done leaps and bounds better than ever to be expected. 2013-07-13_00542013-07-13_0055
