Bode

I guess I stopped posting about what Bode’s been up to since he turned a year, now 13 months have come and gone. Oops! Bode is still the best kid in the whole world. Doesn’t every parent think that of their child? :)
We are teaching Bode body parts, and he can point to his nose and ears! We just started so that’s all he’s got down by now. I get super excited when he learns new things.
He giggles when I read him the farm animal book and make the noises. He tries to mimic me with MOOO and baaaaa.
He loves to play with balls around the house. He will find one and run up to it and say “ba!” He also loves to throw the ball in the house for Gunner and squeals when Gunner fetches.
He likes to pet Gunner. We are trying to teach him to be nice. Poor Gunner. Bode can’t resist pulling his hair and ears and tail. Gunner puts up with a lot, never makes a peep either.
He insists on grabbing the dirty diapers and putting them in the diaper genie, all by himself.
He wants to feed himself with a spoon so bad! So far I have let him try with yogurt, mashed potatoes, applesauce, raviolis, and mac n cheese. He’s getting pretty good, although it’s a huge mess in the end.
He still loves to sweep and will sweep around the house forever. He prefers to have the broom on hand while he sweeps.
When he wants me he says, “Mama! Mama! Mama!” (over and over and over… you get the point.)
He can say, “yeah!” and “what?”
He waves bye bye whenever we leave for somewhere. If I grab my coat to check the mail or something, he waves bye bye. When we are out somewhere and he’s ready to come home, he’ll just start waving bye to everyone.
He can climb up (and down) all the furniture we have in the house. He likes to climb on the couch, then climb up the back of the couch to get to the window to the kitchen where we have all kinds of goodies. We used to put everything we didn’t want him to touch up there, now he just goes up and grabs it.
He finds combs, brushes, and hair clips. He pretends to brush his hair.
He likes to brush his own teeth, but hates when we do it.
If we would let him, he would eat baby lotion straight from the bottle. He loves it.
He tries to put on his own socks and shoes. He calls socks “sos.”
He likes to draw on paper. He usually misses the paper, so I’ve only let him practice with pencils.
He seems to be ambidextrous. I try to give him the spoon or pencil in his right hand, but after a while he always switches it to his left.
He likes to wear my necklaces.
He likes to throw the football. The second he gets the ball in his hands, he throws it right away. He doesn’t give himself the time to throw it very far or straight.
He loves to dance. It’s hilarious to watch. He can get pretty shy with his dancing, so when he really gets down it’s when he thinks I’m not watching. If he knows I’m watching he will constantly look back at me.
His hair is out of control, well the mullet part. Clint still doesn’t want me cutting it.
He’s extremely ticklish. Clint can’t resist.
He loves his blankie! He’s so cute with it.
ummm……
I’m sure I am missing things but that is all I can remember for now! I realize this is long and boring for most everyone, but I’ve said it many times before - blogging is like my journal! I do it to keep a record of what’s up. :)
We love our baby Bode!
