Father’s Day

Clint is such a great dad. My boys are very lucky to have him to look up to. Life is not always easy, and our marriage isn’t always easy – but no matter what is going on, Clint is amazing with the boys. He is always playful and can get Bode laughing in no time. Owen loves to play with his daddy and is always full of giggles and smiles when he’s with him (Well, not always. Owen is a momma’s boy after all.) He is so great with Owen at night when I have stuff going on. I never feel good about leaving Owen, but Clint can get him to go to bed and I never have to worry. Sometimes he tells me that I’m not allowed to stress or even call for an update.. and I do not like that! I do know that he is trying to get me to just let go and enjoy myself and I’m grateful for that.

He almost always puts Bode to bed and he is so good at it. He can get Bode to fall ASLEEP in a matter of minutes. Like eyes closed, totally sleeping. When he is out of town and I try to do it, he comes down a bazillion times with every excuse in the book as to what he needs.  He can seriously take two hours to go to sleep. Not with Clint. Life is definitely not as easy for any of us when he is gone. He works so hard to give us a great life and I’m so grateful for that. He’s always willing to let me have girls night, photo club, spinning class, running, photo shoots, doing hair appointments, bunco.. or just shopping by myself. He sometimes pushes me out the door to get some much needed alone. I am so lucky for that! He hates drama, just as I do and it’s so nice to be able to confide in him. He is always supportive no matter what decision I may make about one thing or another. He is usually pretty quiet about himself and his feelings, etc. – but he’s always there for me and mine. I need that and I’m glad I can have it.

He’s always cracking jokes and making everyone around him laugh. I have had multiple people come up to me and tell me about something crazy funny that Clint said in a ward counsel meeting, or in the hallway at church, or other random times they ran into him. One girl asked me what it was like to be married to such a funny guy and was I laughing all of the time. He can be serious when he needs to be, but I do love that he’s always easy going and enjoys himself and makes sure others around him do too.

If you are Clint’s friend, he is all in. He is so thoughtful and generous to the people around him. He is always willing to lend a hand, give his knowledge, lend his truck, give his time, and be there for people. Recently an awesome photo that he took won 3rd place in a fishing photo contest. The only reason he entered it was because his friends Jon and Pam asked him to. They were for sure he could win. It was a picture of the both of them in their boat fly fishing. After the contest was all over he had me print a 16x20 gallery wrapped canvas for them and just gave it to them. I kept asking him are you sure? Just give it to them? That big of a canvas? And he was dead serious. After the couple got their awesome canvas she put on her FB wall that it was so awesome and thanked us both. I told her that she didn’t need to thank me, just Clint and that it was his idea. She commented after that I must have trained him well or something. NO I didn’t. He is just that nice, I promise. That is just one example of something he has done for others.

I’m so glad that I chose you and the boys get you. We love you Clint.

Here is that picture I was referring to. The rest are from our back yard right before we headed to my grandma’s for a yummy family bbq on Father’s Day.

Clint reminds me so much of my Mark. I wish we lived closer because I think we'd get along great!
