Another huge milestone over the summer... I still can not believe that my Bode is in big kid school. I was just as torn up about Bode starting Kindergarten as I was for Owen to start preschool! How are my kids old enough for this?!
When we moved to Woods Cross, we got into the best school district. Odyssey Elementary was being built in the field area behind our house, and Bode's first year was going to be the schools first year also. The school is beautiful. It's so amazing! The design of it is so unique and the classrooms are huge and they even have a garage door window for an entire side that opens up into the pod area. You can read about the school here.
Clint and I attended the French Immersion meeting and decided it sounded awesome, so we enrolled Bode. He does half the day in English and half the day in French. I was kind of nervous at first how he would do. Well, he has loved it! He is doing so so well and I feel so lucky that we have this amazing school and French program basically in our backyard. His teacher is Madam Taylor and she is amazing. Bode really likes her and she is so kind and loving.
The first day was kind of overwhelming. The school being brand new was kind of figuring out things as well all the students. We found Bode's friends and waited in this large common area outside while they were saying something over the megaphone, none of which anyone heard. Then they were to line up by their teacher holding a sign and wait to follow their teacher in. I got Bode to the line in front of his sign and kind of got out of the way to find where Owen ran off to. I came back to Bode a few minutes later and he was crying. Poor guy thought I left him and he was scared. He immediately smiled when he saw me again and it was smooth sailing from there on out.
He loves his class much! I am so proud of Bode and how well he has been doing.
