It was about 3-3 1/2 hours in the car from Thermopolis to Sheridan. It was such a beautiful drive through the mountains. We stopped at an overlook with a bus load of old people with visors and fanny packs and the wind was out of control! There were at least 3 visors that flew off people and blew away. It was pretty funny. There was a fire burning in Montana that brought tons of smoke into Sheridan and the surrounding areas. It was still so pretty though.
This field below is behind Clint’s old house. He used to play in it all growing up. In front of this field is a river. They put a walking path all through the field along the river and he was pretty bummed about that.
As we were driving around his old neighborhood he saw an old red truck parked on the street. I guess they’ve been parking it there for over 12 years. We also drove by his old church and two houses that he lived in. The town is really small so we basically drove around everywhere.
The house on 81 Davis Tee had a small itsy bitsy teeny tiny circle in front of it. Clint remembers that circle being HUGE and playing baseball and other sports in it. It’s crazy how you think things are big as a kid and then grow up to see they weren’t really that big. Clint did this a lot over the week at different things here and there.
We stayed in the basement of Clint’s old family friends the Gonda Family. Bode was in love with Marsha Gonda. She let him help water flowers, made him waffles, listened to his non stop chatter.. he really warmed up to her. They were only there a few days before they left for out of town. We had the place to ourselves and it was so nice! She had a toy room and the boys loved it. She also had every old Disney movie on VHS and Bode watched so many of them over the week. He loved it! I loved it. I hadn’t seen those movies since I was a kid. They had this huge love sac and Bode and Owen would play this game where Bode would hide in the top and then peak over the edge where Owen was and they both giggled and giggled. It was the cutest thing ever!
