Bode loves dumping out the toy box. I almost never let him do it because it drives me nuts to have the toys all spread out everywhere. It wouldn’t be such a bad thing – but Bode takes a million years to clean anything up. He whines and cries and says he needs help. He’ll pick up one thing, then play with it.. then walk around and find something else. He’ll decide he wants to “keep” the toy he was trying to put away and then put it on the couch. His keep pile is ginormous. I’m usually telling him it’s not play time it’s clean up time! A few times he will stop all together and sit on the couch telling me he is just too tired to do it. It can seriously take an hour or more (if I make him do it all by himself) because he refuses to go faster than a super slow snail like speed. I really do not know why it’s so hard for him! I have tried saying things like, “Come on buddy! As soon as you are done we can go outside and play!” It does not help. I’ve tried turning it into a game, singing songs, tons of stuff. If I help him with one little toy he all but gives up and expects me to do it all. This why he knows he’s not allowed to dump the toys.
This day he begged me. He said, “Mom! I promise promise promise I will clean them all up. By all myself mom! I will!”
The boys played and played.
Then came time for clean up - he was back to his shenanigans. He told me was just “so worn out from playing so hard.”
Some days I just don’t know what to do with my crazy kid.

He sounds just like Griffin! We have that exact same conversation daily.
